El Salvador Wheat Whiskey Barrel Aged/45th Parallel Distilling
In stock
In collaboration with 45th Parallel Distilling in Richmond, Wisconsin, we proudly introduce our barrel aged coffee selection.
The coffee: We have selected to barrel age our 93 point El Salvador Natural Pacas direct from the Carlos Pola Farm. Carlos and his family are our founding farm partner. A beautiful natural coffee with notes of crisp apple, caramel, chocolate and hazelnut.
The distillery: Founded in 2007, 45th Parallel is at the forefront of small batch whiskey innovation. To learn more about 45th Parallel, check out this link:

The Process: We have selected to age green, unroasted coffee in Wheat Red Fife Barrels (A Canadian Wheat Varietal). We are using barrel #33 of Red Fife, which began its process on November 7th of 2011. The Red Fife Whiskey was removed from the Barrel in mid October of 2024. At this point, green coffee is added to the barrel and allowed to rest and age in the barrel prior to roasting.
The outcome: Through this process, coffee absorbs the flavors and aromas of the Red Fife Wheat Whiskey and creates and beautiful blend of coffee and whiskey. A larger, heavy bodied coffee is created with notes of Red Fife Whiskey running through out the cup. A true novelty for the holidays.
Roast Schedule and Availability: Coffee will roasted the week of November 18th, 2024 and begin shipping November 21st. Coffee will be made available in 6oz and 12oz options. We will have around 100lbs available for the Holidays, and when its gone, its gone until next Holiday season. Any all and orders for this coffee will not begin shipping until November 21st.
Disclaimer: There is no whiskey in this coffee, however it tastes strongly of whiskey. Whiskey itself never touches the coffee and is never introduced into our roaster. The coffee simply takes on characteristics of the Red Fife Whiskey.

Blind Assessment |
Balanced, deep-toned. Black cherry, salted caramel, hop flowers, lemon balm, cocoa powder in aroma and cup. Sparkling acidity; crisp, lightly satiny mouthfeel. In the finish, salted caramel and black cherry harmonize. |

Bottom Line |
Deep, bright, juicy and richly bittersweet, this El Salvador Pacas natural covers all the sweet-tart-savory bases. |
