Costa Rica Central Valley Honey Geisha
In stock
The Flores family has been dedicated to coffee cultivation for six generations! In the mid-1980s, the family made their first acquisition of a farm in the Poás region of Alajuela, driven by the urban development in the central area of Heredia, where all the family’s coffee farms had traditionally been located. This particular section of the farm, named La Esmeralda in honor of a family member, was acquired in 1999.
This beautifully honey processed Geisha Microlot from Francisco Flores is hand picked and meticulously clean. Vibrant cup notes of honey, nutmeg, and florals leave your coming back for another satisfying sip.
This coffee is being sent to Coffee Review on 10/25/24. We have 330lbs of green and will be offering this rare gem in 12oz bags, and as we get closer to the Holidays this will be apart of our Holiday Geisha Box which will include 3, 6oz Geisha offerings.

Blind Assessment |
Elegant, nuanced, very sweet. Honey, cocoa nib, walnut, clove, narcissus in aroma and cup. Delicately bright acidity; plush, syrupy mouthfeel. Cocoa and nut-toned finish with floral undertones. |
Notes |
Produced by the Flores family, entirely of the Geisha variety of Arabica, and processed by the honeymethod, in which some of the fruit flesh is left on the beans during the drying process. Bear Lake Coffee Co., a B Corp-certified coffeehouse and roastery located in Barronett, Wisconsin, is committed to sustainability through its Coffee with a Purpose™ initiative, which ensures that farmers receive compensation well above the Fairtrade Premium for their exceptional small-batch coffee. |
Bottom Line |
An enticing honey-processed Costa Rica Geisha with distinct cocoa nib, sweet spice, and complex nut tones. |
