Speak Up & Fair Treatment Procedure
Purpose
Bear Lake Coffee Co. is committed to operating responsibly and transparently. We welcome feedback and provide a clear process for stakeholders to raise concerns related to our operations, including workplace practices, sourcing, environmental impact, customer experience, community impact, and ethical conduct.
Who Can Submit a Concern
This process is open to all stakeholders, including:
- Employees (current and former)
- Coffee producers and supply chain partners
- Customers (café and online)
- Community members
- Contractors and service providers
Types of Concerns
Issues may include, but are not limited to:
- Workplace conditions, wages, or discrimination
- Supplier practices or labor rights concerns
- Environmental impacts such as waste or packaging
- Misleading claims or ethical concerns
- Data privacy or customer experience issues
How to Submit a Concern
Stakeholders may submit concerns through the following channels:

- In person: speak with a manager or request a private meeting with Gabe Damiani, Founder. Gabe Damiani has ultimate responsibility for managing all grievances.
Information to Include
Where possible, please provide:
- Description of the issue
- Relevant dates and locations
- Individuals or parties involved
- Supporting documentation
Our Commitment
We commit to:
- Acknowledging receipt within 5 business days
- Reviewing all concerns fairly and impartially
- Maintaining confidentiality where possible
- Prohibiting retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith
Review and Resolution Process
- Intake and logging of the grievance
- Initial assessment of severity and scope
- Investigation, including gathering relevant information
- Response provided within 30 days where possible
- Implementation of appropriate corrective actions
- Follow-up, where appropriate
Continuous Improvement
Bear Lake Coffee Co. tracks and reviews grievance data to identify patterns, improve policies, and strengthen our impact and accountability practices.
Accessibility
This process is designed to be accessible and easy to use. It is available online and compatible with mobile devices. Support is available upon request for those who need assistance submitting a grievance.
This policy has been developed to support compliance with the requirements of the B Lab Standards Version 2.2 and to advance the Company's commitment to sustainable business practices. The policy should be interpreted and implemented in a manner consistent with applicable B Lab Standards requirements and any future updates adopted by B Lab.
