Honduras Honey Decaf Mountain Water
In stock
Just because it's decaf, doesn't mean it has to taste terrible. Our selection of Decaf will meet or exceed any Decaf on the market... learn a bit below.
A collective of small producers in the Marcala region of Honduras harvests yellow and red Catuai varieties. These are pulped and dried in their mucilage as honey. The coffee is then shipped to Descamex in Mexico, where the caffeine is removed with pure water from Pico de Orizaba using a water saturation process. This process removes caffeine without the use of chemicals.
Tasting notes include cocoa butter, caramel, and brown sugar.

Sweet-toned, crisply caramelly. Brown sugar, rhododendron, date, honey, fir in aroma and cup. Brisk, sweet acidity; quite full, creamy mouthfeel. Brown sugar and fir notes carry the resonant finish. |
Notes |
Produced by smallholding farmers, from trees of the Red Catuai and Yellow Catuai varieties of Arabica, and processed by the honey method and decaffeinated at the Descamex plant in Mexico by a water-only process that does not involve the use of solvents. Bear Lake Coffee Co., a B Corp-certified coffeehouse and roastery located in Barronett, Wisconsin, is committed to sustainability through its Coffee with a Purpose™ initiative, which ensures that farmers receive compensation well above the Fairtrade Premium for their exceptional small-batch coffee. |
Bottom Line |
A very respectable water-processed decaf grown in Honduras, caramelly and crisply floral. |
